Our Guiding Principles:
When you work with the MGK Consulting Team, you are working with a group of professionals who are highly skilled and fully committed to doing the hard work that is required to create diverse, inclusive organizations. The team shares a belief in a set of professional principles that drives how we will work with you.
Our Guiding Principles:
- Differences do make a difference. Nothing is gained and opportunities are lost by focusing only on similarity.
- Learning and change occur through direct engagement across difference. We create the safety and trust to allow this to happen.
- Assume multiple realities. None of us has the whole picture. The value of diversity is in tapping multiple realities to get a fuller picture.
- Learn, apply, learn, apply, learn, apply. Creating a diverse, inclusive organization, like any important strategic initiative, comes from ongoing learning and a willingness to take manageable levels of risk.
- Organizational change needs to be leveraged in multiple ways at multiple levels. A training program alone will not change an organization. Sustained effort that uncovers underlying patterns in the organization, as well as formal and informal policies and practices, will yield long-term results.
- Diversity work must be directly linked to key organizational strategies and bottom line results. Yes, diversity is “the right thing to do.” However a sense of social justice will not be sufficient to carry a long-term change process.
- Don’t ask clients to go where we haven’t gone. We master our skills to help you develop yours.
